<description><![CDATA[The History of Mothers Day in America<br/><ol><li>The ancient Greeks honored the mother of the gods Rhea, with a celebration every Spring.</li><li>In England the early Christians celebrated all mothers on the 4th Sunday during Lent called &quot;Mothering Sunday&quot;.</li><li>Julia Howe tried to get a holiday for Mothers started in 1872</li><li>After losing her mother at age 41, Anna Jarvis wanted to prevent others for taking their mothers for granted and began what we now now as Mothers Day in 1907.</li><li>The holiday was made official in 1914 by US President Woodrow Wilson who declared the second Sunday of May as Mothers Day.</li><li>While many countries around the world have days to recognize mothers, the countries of Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia and Belgium all celbrate Mothers on the same day as the United States!</li></ol>
